Pharmacology: Polymyxin B Sulfate is bactericidal and most effective against Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. Development of resistant strains is rare. The following gram-negative organisms are highly susceptible to Polymyxin B Sulfate: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aerobacter aerogenes, Escherichia Coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Koch-Weeks bacteria. Neomycin sulfate is a broad spectrum antibiotic. Some organisms that are sensitive to this antibiotic are: Staphylococcus aureus, Corynebacterium diphteriae, Streptococcus viridans, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae. Dexamethasone is the most potent of a series of 16-methyl substitute hydrocortisone analogs. It causes inhibition of the inflammatory response to itching agents of a mechanical, chemical or immunological nature.
